Runners and Ribbon!

It's two days away! Our big wedding day! I have worked hard creating unique aspects to our wedding like these custom runners and ribbon walls!

So excited to share the decor pictures of the reception hall but check out these preview pics!

love the squared off navy runner with hot pink grosgrain ribbon

this greek key seems like a red but it is more of a raspberry and the pattern will compliment the navy squared off runners!

so excited about these ribbon walls...you can't really get a grasp as to what they look like hanging up but look at all the wonderful colors and textures!

Love a long weekend!

Good morning! Hope everyone survived their Memorial Day weekend. I had a blast but am feeling a bit tired this morning...only to be pumped back up by the thought of Boy and I getting married Friday!

The weekend itinerary was busy with a Nat's game, crab feast, and Boy's bachelor party fishing...we spent great times with friends and family which is what we wanted to do as we gear up the week before our big day!

so much fun at Nat's stadium and post party at the bull pen! I highly reccommend if you are visiting Washington to head down to the park for a game and a cold one!

boy caught a bunch of rockfish at the start of the season!

Fun start to the wedding week!

Friday Finds...Love!

Hey Notebook readers! Happy Friday! So excited to have a long weekend and relax! Boy and I have a bunch of stuff going on but its nice to be here in DC and not having to travel...don't get me wrong if the weather was nicer we would be heading to the beach, but instead we decided to chill the weekend before our big day!

Last night I cranked out a bunch of last minute DIY projects I designed for the decor factor at the reception. One of them was this amazing love sign that goes with the theme of our wedding if you may. We incorporated this love stamp into our save the dates and our invitations and this bad ass sign, which my future father in law helped me cut out, will be a huge impact over the outside bar!

I had the stamp custom made off of this Etsy shop!

So working it into the wedding in a bigger way was a must!

Check it out...

here is the sign cut out of plywood

I sprayed it white and it was just a bit too dull for me...so I got out the glitter!

I added one coat to the sign and it still needed more

I started seeing where I wanted this piece to after the second

And her she is...Big bold glittery and beautiful! Can't wait to hang this lady above the bar with navy and white stripe ribbon...so excited!!!

only 8 more days ahhhhh can't wait!

Happy Friday and have a great & safe Memorial Day weekend!!!

Don't like it...change it!

I am always looking for items that may not be exactly what I want but I know I can change it up. This cake stand was perfect for Boy & I big day, which is PS only 9 days away...it had this fuchsia ribbon through it. Trust me I love some fuchsia but this cake stand will be going on a fuchsia table linen so I had to change it out!

switched out the ribbon with a navy and white stripe grosgrain ribbon...I added a safety pin to the end of the ribbon to make it easier to control looping through the cake stand holes.

took some time but well worth the change out! sorry for the scare on my hand one of my angels at school gave it to me!

Catalog it!

I'm always happy to hear my friends, readers, and family memebers sharing DIY projects they have sparked enough courage to try! I'm was thrilled to receive an email from a girlfriend, Katie and her and her man, Pat, who just bought a home in Kensington, MD, a cute suburb outside of DC. It's a total fixer upper but they found some really cool pieces going through the house, which was Pat's grandfather home.

One of these cool pieces is an old catalog.

Check it out!

she had to take off a ton of paper that was applied years ago

sanded it down and ready to prime!

her colors are going to be ivory for the base and drawers and silver metallic for the pulls...keeping it clean and simple! love it!

Here is her inspiration photo...

Can't wait to see the afters..More after pictures to come!!!

Hello Monday

Hey people! Hope everyone has settled into their Monday. I just got finished with a three hour meeting so check that off my list of "to-dos" this morning.

I had a great weekend! Went to the DC Design House closing party and then went to a fundraiser for one of our friends who past away. We threw a corn hole tournament to raise some money for his family! And Sunday we headed out to the Potomac Hunt to watch some local horse races! So much fun!

Hope everyone has a great start to the work week!

Gray & White Wash Wonders!

I was recently hired by a client in Chevy Chase, MD to paint a built in bench as well as their fireplace. They live in an amazing home and I am trilled to make it even cosier for this family!

The client requested a white wash with tan and gray undertones for the bench and a white wash with no red brick exposure for the fireplace. This look has become increasingly more popular with big name companies like Restoration Hardware using this finish on many different kinds of pieces like this dining room table.

this finish is going to make this bench look amazing!!!

for the fireplace she wants a more whitewash finish to keep the living room clean and fresh

I will def do enough coats to completely cover the red brick from exposing to give it a more uniform white wash.

more pics to come!

Have a great day people!

Paintable Beadboard wallpaper!

Now here is a simple solution to add a touch of personality to any room if you are renting...beadboard wallpaper that is paintable!

For $30 a roll that covers 56 square feet not only is this a good solution for renters but for homeowners that want to save some dough!
